It is a lidded basket but it is started with a sand dollar center and is about 6" width then goes up with sea shells on the sides. The lid is great with a rounded pineneedle handle with seashells and a starfish on the lid. Please, Pamela, post the picture it is wonderful. Susan says this is her first exchange and I`m so very happy to have her basket, she even has her name on a gold metal disk on the inside of it.
